往大稻埕熱鬧主街的深處走去，一路行經南北貨店舖與商行，隨著市場叫賣聲漸弱，周圍的寧靜開始讓人沉澱之際，一處溫潤、暖黃的風格場域，在街屋之間悄然映入眼簾。這裡是位於迪化街的「奏ZOU Listening Bar」臺灣第一間結合威士忌與古典樂的聆聽酒吧。奏既指演奏，也象徵音樂在空間中被喚起的形式；而 ZOU，則來自店主周郁然姓氏的拼音，讓此處多了一層個人而真誠的意涵。

古典音樂自店主年少時期便成為精神上的陪伴，在人生不同階段帶來安定與慰藉；而威士忌作為另一個愛好，周郁然認為純飲威士忌與聆聽音樂在感官上具有極佳的互補性，品飲需要時間醞釀與體會，與欣賞古典樂所需的專注度相輔相成。於是，以古典樂為主題，威士忌為媒介的奏 ZOU 於焉誕生，試圖創造一個能讓人靜下來、自在聆聽的文化場域，並邀請質型設計 STRAIGHT DESIGN負責空間規劃。
以音樂為主體，建立聆聽的儀式感
座落於承載百年生活樣態的大稻埕，質型設計並未刻意複製街區既有的歷史語彙，而是以當代的方式回應這份緩慢與沉穩。團隊從 Listening Bar 的文化脈絡出發，重新思考其在臺北城市語境中的可能性，同時體現讓人自在地靠近古典音樂的初衷，將空間氛圍定調為居家視聽室的延伸，並以「城市中的 Sweet Spot」為主題，嘗試在儀式感與親切感之間，找到一個恰到好處的平衡。
Hidden deep within Taipei’s historic Dadaocheng district, ZOU Listening Bar reveals itself gradually. As visitors move past rows of traditional dry-goods shops along Dihua Street, the lively sounds of commerce slowly recede. In their place emerges a quieter rhythm, marked by a warm amber glow nestled between century-old shophouses. This understated presence signals ZOU Listening Bar, Taiwan’s first listening bar dedicated to the pairing of classical music and whisky.
Classical music has accompanied Chou since adolescence, offering emotional grounding and continuity through different stages of life. Whisky, another enduring passion, emerged as a natural counterpart. In Chou’s view, listening to music and drinking whisky neat share a sensory affinity. Both require time, attentiveness, and restraint, allowing complexity to unfold gradually. From this shared sensibility, ZOU was conceived as a cultural setting where people can pause, listen, and feel at ease.
流動的空間
承載聲音、酒與人之間的關係
在不到十坪的室內尺度中，流動感成為空間的重要命題。奏 ZOU 透過光線的層次、材質的連續性與環形座位配置，讓聲音、人群與酒液都能在空間中自然流動。這樣的氛圍，從抵達奏 ZOU 的門口便已展開，臨街門面並未刻意營造隱密或拒人於外的姿態，而是以通透的開窗與柔和光色，回應迪化街日常的行走風景，並在門面周圍透過高低錯落差的層次設計，將音樂的律動感以更俐落的手法展現。白天，落地窗引入自然光與街景，讓空間保有生活的氣息；夜晚，溫暖的燈光則成為街屋之間一個安靜而穩定的存在，輕輕暗示著內部正在進行的聆聽狀態。
To translate this vision into space, Chou collaborated with Taipei-based studio STRAIGHT DESIGN, who approached the project as a contemporary response to its historic surroundings. Rather than reproducing nostalgic references common in the area, the designers focused on atmosphere, proportion, and sensory alignment, framing ZOU as an extension of a domestic listening room within the city.
The design concept centres on the idea of a “sweet spot in the city”, a balance between ritual and approachability. While listening remains the core activity, the space avoids formality. Instead, it invites visitors to engage with classical music naturally, without requiring prior knowledge or behavioural cues.
Within an interior of less than 33 square metres, flow became the defining spatial strategy. Light gradients, continuous material surfaces, and a circular seating layout allow sound, people, and movement to circulate seamlessly. This sense of flow begins at the threshold. The street-facing façade remains open and legible, with large openings and softly diffused light responding directly to the pedestrian rhythms of Dihua Street. Subtle shifts in depth and height around the entrance translate musical rhythm into architectural form.
將吧檯、音響與座位尺度視為一個整體，而非彼此獨立的配置元素。吧檯客席區刻意配置一般餐椅高度，並透過地坪的局部墊高，讓顧客在坐定時，視線自然對齊音響與空間核心，音響高度亦精準對齊聆聽時的耳朵高度，讓聲音也能以最直接而均衡的方式傳遞至每一個位置。同時，為了提升長時間停留的舒適度，團隊特別為空間量身打造客製餐椅，從坐深、椅背角度到包覆感皆經過反覆調整，這樣的尺度設定，不僅回應「居家視聽室」般的親密感，也讓單人來訪或多人同行，都能舒服享受。
吧檯區後方進一步配置一列沿牆展開的卡座區，樺木立面背牆結合展示層架，壁燈在牆面投射出光暈，芥末黃絨布椅墊加以點綴，提供一種更自由的座位形式。後門牆面上的不規則幾何開窗，靈感來自「圖像記譜」，為奏 ZOU 的整體視覺帶入更加現代的樣貌。
在音響領域中，Sweet Spot 意指聲音表現達到最佳平衡、最清晰、最理想的那個位置；店主周郁然希望透過這樣一個空間，讓古典樂不再顯得嚴肅或需要門檻，無論是否懂酒、懂音樂，都能在奏 ZOU 放鬆入席，找到屬於自己的 Sweet Spot。
In audio culture, the sweet spot refers to the precise position where sound achieves optimal clarity and balance. At ZOU, this technical idea becomes a metaphor. Chou’s ambition is to dismantle the perceived formality surrounding classical music, creating a place where no prior knowledge of music or whisky is required. Anyone can sit down, relax, and discover their own sweet spot.
During the day, full-height windows draw in natural light and fragments of street life, reinforcing a sense of continuity between interior and exterior. At night, the interior emits a steady, warm glow that quietly signals the presence of listening within, without asserting itself against the surrounding streetscape.
Inside, STRAIGHT DESIGN treated the bar counter, sound system, and seating as a single integrated system. Bar seating is set at standard dining-chair height, while the floor beneath is subtly raised so that guests’ sightlines align naturally with the speakers and spatial focal point. Speaker height is calibrated precisely to seated ear level, ensuring sound reaches each listener evenly and directly.
Custom-designed chairs support extended listening, with seat depth, back angle, and cushioning refined through repeated testing. This focus on ergonomics reinforces the intimacy of a home listening environment, accommodating both solo visitors and small groups with equal comfort.
